Rich and Nancy Colwell established their orchard in 1982, planting a grove of Satsuma mandarins. Lemons, limes, kumquats, persimmons and more were added over the years. As their yields increased they developed many value added products to utilize their bounty—citrus olive oil, balsamic, chocolate sauces, brittles, soaps and lotions. Their on-site shop is perfect for holiday shopping.
Rich will share the history of farming in Penryn and lead us through a tasting of some of their delicious citrus products. He has generously agreed to give all ticket sales to the Slow Food Sacramento to fund chapter expenses.
Note: rain will not cancel. The tasting is on a covered patio.
