Slow Food Sacramento is headed to Lodi! Join us on a tour of Corto Olive Oil mill. Master Miller David Garci-Aguirre will show us around the plant and explain the process of making olive oil here in The Great Central Valley. Enjoy an oil tasting. This is a behind the scenes tour- no cameras, only closed toed shoes. This is a commercial agricultural workspace and is not accessable for all. The facility is not currently milling so time will be spent explaining the processes and the types of equipment used. Tickets are very limited. There will be an opportunity to sign up on a waiting list for the next trip.

Group will meet up in Lodi at sign at 12:45

General

  • All visitors are to register upon arrival to receive a visitor badge.

  • Visitor badges must be worn in a visible location at all times while on premises, badges are to be returned to the gate guard when leaving the premises for the day.

  • Visitors must always be accompanied by their host.

    • Tobacco products are not permitted on the premises, including e-cigarettes.

    • Photos, video, and audio recordings are prohibited, unless authorized to do so.

    • Personal items e.g., bags, purses, etc. are prohibited outside of administrative areas.

    • Notify your host if you are feeling sick or have symptoms of the flu.

    • Pets are prohibited, with the exception of registered service dogs in limited areas.

Safety Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.

    • Bump cap, safety vest, safety glasses, hair/beard nets, and ear protection will be provided.

  • Flat closed toe shoes are required in production areas.

  • Be aware of all signage, moving parts, machinery, and forklift traffic.

  • In the event of an emergency, take direction from your host to evacuate the facility.

Food Safety Requirements

    • Watches and jewelry are not permitted in production areas.

    • Handwashing is required when entering food production areas.

    • Food, drinks, chewing gum, or candy are not permitted in production areas.

    • Corto does not store or use allergens in production areas.
