Our Programs

The Sacramento Chapter of Slow Food Chefs' Alliance is a work in progress of local cooks, chefs and makers in the 916. We're part of a network uniting chefs around the world who are committed to defending and celebrating biodiversity, food traditions, local cultures, and artisanal food producers.

Membership Programs

Please come to the table for one of our regular, low- or no-cost membership programs. Try our QUARTERLY GATHERINGS, where we eat a little, chat a little, and learn a little. Or SLOW FOOD U, where you can take a deep dive into an interesting food product or process, like Amari or Herbs or Olive Oil. Or join our SUPPER CLUB, where participants regularly contribute a dish for a home-based thematic potluck.

Book Club

The Slow Food Sacramento Book Club is a book club for readers who enjoy food-related literature, both non-fiction and fiction. The club meets at 6:30 pm on the second Thursday of every other month at one of our member’s homes. Everyone who attends brings an appetizer to share, and we enjoy an evening of lively literary discussion. If you are interested in participating or if you would like more information, please contact Kathleen Albiani at katonthyme@gmail.com.
