The sixteenth edition of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto will take place in some of Turin’s most iconic and beautiful locations in the center of Turin (Italy), such as Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Castello, Piazza Carlo Alberto, Via Roma, Piazza Valdo Fusi, from September 24 to 27. Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, organized by the Region of Piedmont and theCity of Turin, has confirmed itself as the leading event dedicated to dialogue and exchange among communities from all over the world committed to sustainability.

Over the course of four days, the event will host discussions between those who work daily within the food system and those who make political decisions, in search of concrete solutions to ensure good, clean and fair food for all. At the heart of the event will be biodiversity, taking center stage through Slow Food projects such as the Slow Food Farms, the Slow Food Presidia, the Ark of Taste and the Slow Food Cooks’ Alliance.

Biodiversity stands against borders and nationalism, against monoculture in all its forms: agricultural monoculture, but also industrial monoculture in cities, social monoculture and cultural monoculture. Moreover, biodiversity highlights the value of exchange and mixing. It is wealth, it is resilience, it is our precious guarantee of survival and wellbeing. This is why it is just as important to be aware of our roots as it is to understand that there is no single identity to preserve, but rather a continuous flow that places the sacredness of life at its center: the bond that unites all living beings on this planet.
