Slow Food Sacramento- Year Round, in The Central Valley
The Slow Food Movement is going big here in California, with the city of Sacramento hosting Slow Food International’s Terra Madre Americas. Slow Food is becoming a household name. While Terra Madre comes to town every other year, Slow Food Sacramento is here in Sacramento 365 days a year.
From collabs at The Crocker, and The Sacramento French Film Festival, to pop-ups and tours like Corto Olive Olive, Oak Park Farmers Market, and even visits with legendary grocer Darrell Corti. Slow Food Sacramento is here to activate Sacramento’s culture of Good, Clean, and Fair Food for All.
Come to the Table: Support a Just, Joyful Food Future
As the year draws to a close, we invite you to pause and reflect on one of life’s most universal experiences — sharing a meal. Around every table, we find connection, culture, and care. To truly know someone, you must eat with them.
At Slow Food Sacramento, we believe food is more than fuel. It nourishes our bodies, yes, but it also feeds our spirits, strengthens our communities, and honors our planet. Every meal tells a story — of farmers and gardeners, of cooks and families, of the land that sustains us.
This year, we’ve worked to:
Bring more people to the table — ensuring everyone feels welcome to help shape a better food system.
Extend the table — supporting local farms, gardens, and food education so everyone can access real, nutritious food.
Share food and stories — connecting neighbors and cultures through the simple act of eating together.
All of this came together at Terra Madre America, where our food communities gathered to learn, celebrate, and envision our food system’s past, present, and future. But our part is far from done.
Your support helps us cultivate a food culture rooted in justice, flavor, and joy. Where everyone has the right to Good, Clean, and Fair food.
Growing for the Future
As we look ahead, Slow Food Sacramento is preparing to grow our local community and deepen our efforts to activate real food culture across the Greater Sacramento area. In 2026, your financial contribution will help us:
Continue hosting meet-ups and group field trips that connect people with local farms, producers, and Slow Food values.
Provide scholarships for local food community members to attend Terra Madre 2026 in Torino.
Build a fund to support small makers, producers, and community members in attending Sacramento’s own Terra Madre Americas in 2027.
Strengthen and coordinate our volunteer network, and collaborate with aligned organizations throughout Sacramento.
Maintain and grow our digital presence — keeping our website and social media active as hubs for community events, education, and storytelling.
We invite you to join us at the table.
Give today to help build a more delicious, just, and joyful food future.
With gratitude and good food,
The Slow Food Sacramento Team
